Ryan Henshaw

Ryan Henshaw has been a State Farm Agent in Yuba City since 2011 and has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Originally from San Diego, Ryan began his insurance career in 2005 and later worked with State Farm on the corporate side in Northern California before opening his Yuba City agency.

Early in Ryan’s career, the San Diego wildfires gave him a firsthand look at what insurance can mean to families during some of their most difficult moments. He helped coordinate support for customers who had been displaced and visited the evacuation center at Qualcomm Stadium, where he saw families suddenly unsure of what came next. That experience continues to influence his approach today: listen first, educate, and help people understand how to protect what matters to them.

Ryan and his team help individuals, families, and business owners throughout Yuba City, Marysville, Sutter, Live Oak, Olivehurst, Plumas Lake, Wheatland and surrounding Northern California communities with auto, home, renters, life, business and other insurance needs. The office also regularly assists military families from Beale Air Force Base with insurance transitions when moving to or from California. Spanish-speaking team members are available to assist customers in Spanish.

Ryan particularly enjoys conversations about life insurance, asset protection, long-term planning and helping customers understand how their different insurance policies work together. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, his goal is to listen, educate and help customers make informed decisions based on their individual situation.

Community involvement is also an important part of Ryan’s agency. Located in downtown Yuba City on Plumas Street, Ryan serves on the Downtown Business Association board and served as its Vice President from 2020–2024 and President from 2024–2026. He and his team are also involved with the Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce and support local charities, organizations, youth sports and community events throughout the area.

Outside the office, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife, Erin, a teacher, and their three boys. You’ll often find him enjoying soccer, golf, boxing, paddle boarding, hiking, traveling or exploring Northern California with his family and their Border Collie, Bella.

For Ryan, being a State Farm Agent is about more than selling insurance. It’s about being someone customers can turn to when they have questions, when life changes, or when they simply aren't sure what to do next.
